To meet the AS4034 standard a Milford cargo barrier must be able to withstand an impact of a single mass of no less than 60kg traveling at speed consistent with a 48kph head on collision. This equals an impact force close to 1200kg!
Drop test are performed on cargo barriers to ensure they meet the standard. Heavy weights matching the weight and force outlined above are dropped on the cargo barriers in a controlled environment.
Manufacturing is carried out at Milford’s accredited facility located in Camden Park, Adelaide, South Australia. A combination of hand welding and robotic fabrication is used to ensure accuracy and hands on quality control. An experienced quality control officer inspects each barrier before it is boxed up. Milford’s manufacturing facility has TS16949, ISO9001 ISO14001 accreditiation and is audited regularly to ensure compliance. Do Milford Cargo Barriers Provide Access to Child Restraint Anchors?
To meet design standards all Milford Cargo Barriers have provisions to allow child restraints pass through unobstructed. Unobstructed provision are also provided for seat belts where necessary.
Are Milford Cargo Barriers Compatible With Side Airbags?
In vehicles with side airbags suitable changes are made to the shape of the barrier to allow the airbags to fully inflate. If your vehicle is fitted with side airbags you should let us know so that we can make sure the correct barrier has been selected.
Are Milford Cargo Barriers Removable?
There is a large plastic knob on each mounting bolt that can be turned by hand without much force. Most barriers have for such mounting bolts allowing the barrier to be quickly removed. Most Milford Cargo Barriers are light enough for one person to lift, but a second pair of hand may be required to maneuver the barrier safely.

Do You Keep the Barriers in Stock?
We try to keep barriers for popular makes and models on the shelf. For barriers that have to be ordered in from the manufacturer lead times can vary. In cases where Milford has the barrier in stock a lead time of 3-4 working days is the norm, and in cases where the barrier has to be manufactured normal lead times from 7-10 working days.
